Jackie Lacey picked up more endorsements today in her campaign to be Los Angeles County's next district attorney.

Three more Democratic leaders today endorsed Jackie Lacey’s campaign to be the next district attorney for Los Angeles County.

Lacey is in the non-partisan November runoff against Republican Alan Jackson. The winner will succeed District Attorney Steve Cooley, who has held the office since 2000.

The latest endorsements are from state Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones, Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and Los Angeles Controller Wendy Greuel, herself a candidate for mayor.

“Jackie Lacey is a hope and inspiration for all our communities,” Ridley-Thomas said in a statement. “She rose from a hard-working family in the Crenshaw District to become second-in-command of the nation’s largest local prosecutorial office. She is a leader of extraordinary talent and dedication.”

Lacey is also backed by the Los Angeles County Democratic Party.
