The body found on Angeles Crest Highway Thursday morning has been identified as 35-year-old Noe Vasquez, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office, notes the L.A. Times.
The La Cañada Valley Sun reported Thursday that the man may have been a gunshot victim. An autopsy is being performed to determine cause of death.
Vasquez's city of residence had reportedly not been determined by officials, according to Larry Dietz, a spokesman for the coroner's office.
The man's body was discovered above La Cañada Flintridge on Angeles Crest Highway around 5 a.m. Thursday by a passing motorist who called 911.
Located near the first turnout above the snow gate near mile marker 27, authorities detoured traffic and closed a portion of the road for most of the day.
