Amended complaint alleging ex-Telfair Elementary teacher Paul Chapel committed repeated acts of continuous sexual abuse on children.
Paul William Chapel, an ex-Telfair Elementary School teacher in Pacoima jailed since October, has been charged with sexually abusing 13 children -- seven girls and six boys.
The Los Angeles Daily News reports that Chapel, charged last fall with continuous sexual abuse of three girls and a boy, says a revised criminal complaint filed last week accuses him of committing lewd acts with nine other boys and girls. In one case, the accusation is that Chapel molested a boy for three years beginning in 2006.
Chapel is charged with "molestation during the years he taught third grade at Telfair, a predominantly Latino campus in Pacoima," notes the newspaper.
At least one of the alleged victims was a student at the school, according to detectives. Additional victims were identified as part of an ongoing LAPD investigation.
