Long Beach man indicted for allegedly luring women on Craigslist and forcing them into sex trafficking

Roshaun "Kevin" Nakia Porter
Federal prosecutors today announced the indictment of a Long Beach man accused of meeting women on Craigslist in order to force them into being his prostitutes.
Roshaun Nakia Porter, who also goes by Kevin, operated a prostitution ring in Orange County -- and filled its ranks by luring vulnerable women into relationships with him, then threatening them and their families -- according to a government press release.
Porter, 36, allegedly met the women by placing ads on Craigslist and SeekingArrangement.com. He let them believe he was interested in a normal monogamous relationship, then pressed them into becoming sex traffickers, prosecutors say.
He was arraigned Monday in federal court after being indicted by a federal grand jury. Porter is charged with two counts of sex trafficking by coercion and two counts of forced labor, and faces life in prison if convicted.
