A Metrolink train car has been saddled with a vinyl display-wrap of six thoroughbred horses, in a race to get the word out about the Breeders’ Cup return to Santa Anita Park.

The race car represents a Metrolink partnership with the Breeders' Cup to promote the event and encourage public transportation to the track on Nov. 2 and 3.

The pony express promo can currently be spotted trotting the San Bernardino, Orange County, and Burbank-Bob Hope Airport lines. For related schedules and connections, Metrolink says check back after October 10.

For additional track-to-track action, The Source points out that Metrolink connects with Metro Rail at Union Station, and that a number of Metrolink stations are also served by Metro buses.

"Imagine Pittsburgh moving into L.A.—that’s how much our city’s population has swelled in two decades," says Los Angeles Magazine as the introduction to an infographic by Eric Fischer (a numbers visualizer known for assembling census data into demographic maps). According to the "Race in LA" story, the map displays a who-lives-where of changing Los Angeles, with a look at the San Fernando Valley, Monterey Park, Playa Vista and South LA.
