A bird tripped a piece of equipment causing a power outage that took out traffic signals on three major roads and created service interruptions for hundreds of customers in Pasadena on Thursday.
At the beginning of outage 25-30 signals went out, according to Public Works, said Erica Rolufs, Communications Manager for Pasadena Water and Power.
Rolufs told KPCC that signals on Foothill, Walnut and Colorado were affected, causing traffic delays. Five lights remained blinking and three remained dark in the early afternoon.
The outage occurred at approximately 9:40 a.m, with 450 customers losing service. By 10:30 a.m., 200 customers were still without power within the boundaries of Las Lunas, Colorado Boulevard, Chester Avenue and Altadena Drive.
Crews are working to restore power to the remaining few accounts, said Rolufs.
