Expo Line train collides with car in Exposition Park
An empty Expo Line train collided with a car on Thursday morning in Exposition Park. One person sustained minor injuries, according to a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The driver of the vehicle was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital. No passengers were aboard the train.
The incident, which occurred at 10:17 a.m., could be heard nearby.
Senior editor at Los Angeles magazine Elina Shatkin, who was touring the new north campus of the Natural History Museum, told KPCC she heard a "sickening crunch" and went to the scene at the corner of Exposition and USC Watt Way.
The car, a blue Honda Civic, was towed away just after 11 a.m. The train began to move a few minutes later.
