The California Highway Patrol reports a driver fatality after flat bed truck plunged an estimated 100 feet off a canyon road in Malibu early Wednesday morning. The vehicle went over the edge near 2710 Las Flores Canyon Rd, approximately two miles from PCH.
Los Angeles County Fire Department responders were en route to the scene within minutes of the report around 9:10 a.m. Roads were temporarily closed between Live Oak Meadow Road to Hume Roadas as L.A. Fire officials worked to rescue the trapped motorist.
According to the CHP, on site personnel called the potential fatality just before 10:30 a.m. The coroner arrived at the scene just after noon. The crash was under investigation.

A Burbank man died Monday after being crushed by a gravel truck.
Authorities are trying to detirmine what happened in the death of 58-year-old Vigen Boodaghian who was "crushed to death Monday by the remote doors of a gravel truck," according to police, reports the Burbank Leader.
The accident occurred near the 5 Freeway in an empty lot west of Front Street between Burbank and Magnolia boulevards.
Police say Boodaghian, who was trapped just before 10 a.m., was freed by a truck driver before emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead.
An investigation is pending. It was unclear how Boodaghian became trapped, said Sgt. Carlos Gomez.
