Anza Borrego Desert State Park
A body seen on camera inside a deep mud cave in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park may be the remains of a UCSD student who disappeared while hiking on Easter, reports U-T San Diego.
The family of missing Guillermo Pino lowered a camera into the cave as part of their continued search for 24-year-old. Authorities, with the help of hundreds of volunteers, looked for days without finding him.
Pino had no shoes, no water and was not carrying a cell phone when he went missing during a family outing on April 8. He reportedly been exploring caves in an area called Arroyo Tapiado in San Diego County.
The L.A. County Sheriff's mine rescue team was consulted to help San Diego County Sheriff's Department officials in recovering the body, says the L.A. Times.
A state geologist deemed the mud unstable and dangerous on Monday, suspending the attempt by the sheriff's department to recover the body, notes the Times.
