Horses in the street as Cypress Park kicks off Cinco de Mayo
Cinco de Mayo celebrations got started this morning in Cypress Park with a couple of caballeros trotting down Cypress Avenue…

… reminding me a little of Kirk Douglas’s favorite Kirk Douglas film, “Lonely Are the Brave,” about a cowboy who just doesn’t fit anymore.

This version, of course, has a happy ending, without Walter Matthau getting involved. Tomorrow, we’re hitting the big Cinco de Maya fiesta at Whittier Narrows.
Maybe we’ll see you there.
