Kids Say The Darndest Things: "What are flashbulbs?"

My college-age daughter Mary Claire is working toward a career in photography. She's been experimenting with old Nikon and Polaroid cameras. The other day, she bought a dozen flashbulbs on eBay.

When they arrived, I realized she might not know an important flashbulb fact. “You know, these things flash just once, then you throw them away.”

Once? Really?

My high school-age daughter Grace needed more basic information.
