A question, to photographers: what's going on in this White House photo?

I just stumbled upon this official White House photo, from July:

And I have to ask: what is going on here? The caption reads "President Barack Obama talks with members of his staff in the Oval Office following a meeting with the Congressional leadership, July 7, 2011." Which seems accurate and descriptive enough. But what's up with that reflection? Is it a table? If so, where does the reflection end and the photo begin? Photoshopped? Somehow digitally double exposed? And look at how the couch and the pillow--though it's right side up--is oddly transparent in places. Seriously, any ideas?
