Have your summer excursions worn your wallet thin? The Pasadena Museum of History has you covered. The museum will host a free art event called the "Artist Showcase & Summertime Fun" this weekend.

The showcase will feature pottery, jewelry, and artwork by local artists from the Pasadena area. There will be free admission to the museum's "Contemporary Masters: Artistic Eden III" exhibit, which features a collection of work reflecting scenes of the San Gabriel Valley. And if you're feeling inspired by the art, you'll be to create your own at its summer hat-making workshop.

After designing your custom made hat, you can show it off by strolling through the Fenyes Estate Gardens, where it will hold some old-time games, like horseshoes, croquet, and badminton.

The Artist Showcase takes place this Sunday, July 22, from noon to 4:00 PM at the Pasadena Museum of History. The admission is free. For more information, visit the museum's website.
