Officer L.O. Lindsay with the compact motorcycle radio equipment which he invented. Taken January 16 1932
We here at Off-Ramp were rummaging through the Los Angeles Public Library's online photo archive for this week's show when we came across this gem, taken in 1932 for the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner newspaper.
Here's the caption from the LAPL entry:
A police radio motorcycle, believed to be the first without an operator in a side-car, were cruising Culver City as a new weapon of crime prevention. Photo shows Officer L. O. Lindsay with the compact motorcycle radio equipment which he has invented. Photo dated: January 16, 1932.
Note the newspaper's hand-drawn borders and labels.
