Bye Bye. Thanks for checking us out.  See you on the radio.

8:27 p.m...yes, I know, its 11:27 p.m. EST.  My apologies. I am guessing Romney will enjoy good reviews of this speech.  He was mostly businesslike - his nature, probably - but also showed more passion than he usually does.

8:23 p.m. : big white balloons; medium size red, white and blue balloons; tiny confetti flittering down upon the heads of Republicans from Alaska to Puerto Rico.  Its an impressive site.

8:17 p.m. : The balloons have dropped. People are popping them as a vocalist sings "America the Beautiful." A smiling Mitt and Ann Romney, extended family, plus the Paul Ryans standing at the front of the stage.  Is this our next president and vice president? We'll know in 69 days, presumably.  Unless we have hanging chads.

8:15 p.m. Speaks of a more prosperous future.

"Let us begin that future for America tonight. And may god bless teh United States of America."

Paul Ryan joins Mitt Romney on stage, confetti drops. Now the Romney and Ryan families are on stage together.

8:10 p.m. : Romney slips in his support for traditioal marriage.

8:07 p.m. : Most effective line so far: Obama ran to slow the rise of the oceans. PAULSE  And heal the planet. PAULSE I'm running to help you and your family.  APPLAUSE>

8:06 p.m. : "I'm running for president to create a better future."

Paul Ryan and I have five point plan:

1st. "every parent should have a choice" on education.

2nd "We'll made trade work for American by forging new trade agreements."

Missed number three.

4th we will cut the deficit and put America back on track to a balanced budget.

5th we will champion small businesses by lower taxes, relaxing regulation, and repealing Obamacare (Huge applause.)

8:02 p.m. : "This adminsitration has crusehed the middle class." "Gas prices have doubled."

Unemployment too high, says Romney, "These aren't strangers. they are our brothers and sisters.

7:59 p.m. : Romney says the idea is to create tomorrow's prosperity with free enterprise, "not redistribute today's." "This president cannot tell you you're better off than you were for years ago."

"Today, its time to turn the page." "Now is the time to restore the promise of America."

7:56 p.m. : Romney is talking about Bain Capital.  Mentions how Bain helped revive Staples and The Sports Authority. "These are American success stories."

"And yet the centerpiece of the president's campaign is attacking success."  In America, we celebrate success, we don't apologize for success."

7:54 p.m. : "Hope and change was powerful." "If you felt excitement when you voted for Barrack Obama four years ago, shouldn't you feel that way now."

7:53 p.m. : In America, we look to communities, families and faithes for our strenth.

7:51 p.m. : I knew Ann's job as a mom was a lot more important than mine. Cameras pan to Ann Romney.

7:47 p.m. : Romney said his father gave his mother a rose every day. "That's how she found out he had died. There was no rose.'  Romney's voice tightens.

7:43 p.m. : Woman in a greenish dress below the NPR booth shouts out during Romney's speech. Witnesses said she shouted "People over profits, Democracy is not a business."  Others drown her out with "USA, USA."

7:39 p.m. : Romney:  "Freedom" is why people came to America. "This is the essence of the American expeince. We have always felt a special kinship with the future.:

Every family in America wanted this to be a time when they could get ahead. Every new coleage graduate thought they'd have a new job by now. "Its not just what we wanted Its not just what we expected. Its what Americans deserved"

7:36 p.m. : FLASH: Romney accepts nomination for president. "Today, I ask you to walk by my side to a better future." He recognizes Paul Ryan early. "in the days ahead, you'll get to know Paul Ryan better." "I love how he is not embarassed about how much he loves his mother." "But Paul I still like the playlist on my iPod better than yours."

7:32 p.m. : Romney walk down isle "stage left" - opposite Calif. delegation He is shaking hands. Country music plays in the background. Peope are clapping in unison. This could take a second for him to get to the podium.

7:12 p.m. : "When somebody does not do the job, we've got to let him go." Eastman draws his finger across his throat.

7:09 p.m. : its a fasincating device, and Eastwood is pulling it off...this converation with an imaginary Mr. Obama. "I think its time for a business man, a stellar businessman." " You want to tell Mr. Romney what?" Eastman says to the chair.  "Oh he can't do that to himself."

7:07 p.m. : Eastwood pretends to interview "Mr. Obama" in an empty chair on stage.

7:06 p.m. : Eastwood: This administration hasn't done enough to attack unemployement.  "Its time for somebody else to come along and solve the problem."

7:04 p.m. : Clint Eastwood: I know you don't believe it, but there are conservatives in Hollywood. "We just don't hotdog it a lot" like Democrats.
