Big day for endorsements in the mayor's race. Former candidate Jan Perry will endorse Eric Garcetti later this morning. In the afternoon, Magic Johnson will back Wendy Greuel.
Wendy Greuel took the city's entire leadership -- including Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa -- to task Wednesday for the economic downturns experienced by Los Angeles, reports the Daily News. "I'm putting the city leadership, everyone together. And particularly (Eric Garcetti) as president of the City Council, they could do better in making sure we have better jobs in Los Angeles, and (in) getting out of this economic slump," she said.

On his blog, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky talks about how a conversation with his daughter flipped his views on same-sex marriage. "While some people have described their support of marriage equality as an evolution, it was more like a 180-degree revolution for me after that conversation with my daughter," he writes.
City controller candidate Ron Galperin is expected to file an ethics violation against his opponent, Dennis Zine, for allegedly coordinating with an independent group supporting his campaign, according to the Daily News. Galperin believes Zine and the outside group sent out identical mailers to voters.
Bloomberg looks at the Millennium Hollywood project that will be considered today by the city Planning Commission. The president of the Planning Commission has recused himself from the vote because he has worked as an architect on the development. Meanwhile, an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times calls the project a "flop."
Gov. Jerry Brown's history lesson of the day is on mule meat, per the Sacramento Bee.
L.A. City Councilman Tom LaBonge will discuss upcoming construction on Los Feliz Boulevard at 8:30 a.m. at 4500 Los Feliz Blvd.
L.A. City Council President Herb Wesson will announce the members of the Los Angeles 2020 Commission at the offices of Mayer Brown at 9 a.m. Wesson will also address the Central City Association at noon at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown.
Former mayoral candidate Jan Perry will endorse Eric Garcetti at 11 a.m at the 28th Street YMCA.
Magic Johnson will endorse Wendy Greuel at 1 p.m. at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ.
