Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa delivered his State of the City address at UCLA. He used the speech to discuss his legacy and call out Eric Garcetti and Wendy Greuel for not presenting clear education platforms. KPCC, Daily News, Los Angeles Times.

According to LA School Report, following the mayor's speech, Eric Garcetti called for a mayoral debate focused on education. "We agree that education has to be seriously debated in this campaign," a Garcetti spokesman said.

A proposal to move LAX's northern runway 260 feet was approved by two Los Angeles City Council committees Tuesday, reports the Daily Breeze. "No one should consider that construction is about to start tomorrow or is around the corner. There is more detailed work to be accomplished," said LAWA Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey.

A Los Angeles city councilman wants to crack down on "swatting," reports the Daily News. SWAT has responded to fake emergencies at the homes of Justin Bieber, Ashton Kutcher and Justin Timberlake, among others, in the last year.


Eric Garcetti will be joined by former mayoral candidates Kevin James, Jan Perry and Emanuel Pleitez at 2 p.m. at Barnsdall Park to discuss the race.

Wendy Greuel and LAUSD Board President Monica Garcia will tour Camino Nuevo Charter at 2:15 p.m.
