Condoms for porn actors?
At a hearing in Los Angeles today the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, an AIDS advocacy group, will call for the mandatory use of condoms among adult film actors. To the Foundation, the wearing of condoms is a workplace safety issue, not unlike gloves and masks worn by doctors and nurses.
The California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board will hear testimony that the use of condoms by actors who have sex on film would protect them from sexually transmitted diseases like HIV. There’s currently a nationwide law that requires adult film actors to show proof they’ve tested negative for HIV and other STDs within 30 days of going to work on a film.
So, do you think the government should step in and mandate condom use on film sets? And, if you watch an adult film, are you bothered by seeing a condom being worn?
