Longtime NBC4 morning traffic reporter Paul Johnson died last night at home with his wife and family. Doctors tried to remove a brain tumor in January and he had been off the air since then.
Paul had been part of NBC4's on-air team since 1988, reporting on traffic and weather. During his tenure, he served as both a weather and traffic reporter. He was also an avid golfer.
He worked at various LA radio stations, starting in 1969, after appearing in several operas and the movie "Paint Your Wagon." He studied music and drama at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. He didn’t look it, but Paul was 75.
