As if relationships weren’t complicated enough: Social media’s now taken PDA from public pucker-ups to textual (and pictorial) “Proclamations d’Amour”, putting people on different sides of the “Relationship Status” debate. And whether we’re in, in-between, seeking, or otherwise disposed to relationships, the online world has influenced – and will continue to affect – the way we engage with one another across social spaces.

So what are the rules of romantic (dis)engagement in the blog/vlog/Facebook/Twitter era? Has much changed since the analogue days? And are there some practices or traditions that persist despite, or even because of, all of technology’s vaunted advances and social effects?

On Tuesday, January 10, KPCC’s Blog Editor (and “busblog.com” creator/writer) Tony Pierce joined guest panelists Alie Ward (“Drinks with Alie & Georgia”) and Amanda Lewis (LA Weekly contributor and freelance writer) at The Crawford Family Forum for a moderated, potentially immoderate, conversation about the “new” relationship rules, in 2012 and beyond.
