Community Cinema and KPCC partnered to bring you More Than a Month, an amusing and thought-provoking documentary that follows filmmaker Shukree Hassan Tilghman’s cross-country campaign to do away with Black History Month.

The Crawford Family Forum hosted a screening of the film on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 followed by a moderated conversation with Tilghman and Larry Earl
(executive director, Mayme A. Clayton Museum & Library) exploring what the treatment of history tells us about race and power in contemporary America.
