Closed-door meetings and Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky’s recent proposal to reduce the time allocated to public comments during the regular Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors sessions has caused quite an uproar. On Wednesday, February 22nd, The Crawford Family Forum hosted the L.A. Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists for a moderated panel discussion of the Brown Act and its public impact. This event was moderated by John Schwada, veteran print and broadcast reporter who worked most recently with KTTV Fox 11 News.
