On Wednesday, April 11th, audience members joined KPCC Senior News Editor Cheryl Devall to talk about the role of race in the 1992 upheaval itself how Los Angeles feels two decades later. Dr. Fernando Guerra, director of Loyola Marymount University’s Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles, shared the results of its recent LA Riots 20 Year Anniversary Resident Survey. In addition to insights from our recent focus group series, the program encouraged the audience to offer thoughts on what we know about Spring 1992… and how that could affect what we remember about the L.A. Riots in the future.
