Kids and Food: What Do Chefs Do?

Hot dogs, mac ‘n cheese, PB and J sandwiches – what kids like to eat isn’t always the best for them. KPCC’s Alex Cohen is joined by foodie Fanae Aaron, Chefs Ludo Lefebvre and Ann Gentry and nutritionist Cynthia Epps to talk about kids and food.

Hot dogs, mac ‘n cheese, PB and J sandwiches – what kids like to eat isn’t always the best for them. When lifelong foodie Fanae Aaron became a mom, she talked with twenty award-winning chefs about how they cook for their own children, and she put it all in her new book, “What Chefs Feed Their Kids.” She joined KPCC’s Alex Cohen at the Crawford Family Forum.

Guests:

- Fanae Aaron, lifelong foodie and a first-time mother

- Ludo Lefebvre, former executive chef at L’Orangerie and Bastide, he introduced Los Angeles to LudoBites, a restaurant with no permanent address and no phone number. Chef Ludo also creates videos about how he cooks for his kids at Ludo Baby Bites.

- Ann Gentry, founder and CEO of Real Food Daily, where she serves a 100 percent vegetarian (vegan) menu using foods grown exclusively with organic farming methods.

- Cynthia Epps, a metabolic nutritionist and board certified lactation consultant in private practice in the Los Angeles area.
