At the start of the 20th century, George and brother Ira Gershwin (Porgy and Bess) created a classical repertoire of songs with a unique and truly American flavor.
Experience treasures from the Gershwin songbook, with pianists Alan Chapman and Victoria Kirsch; sopranos Karen Benjamin and Shana Blake Hill; tenor Haqumai Waring Sharpe; and bass-baritone Cedric Berry.

California Plaza, the home site of Grand Performances, is part of the Grand Avenue Cultural Corridor just blocks from Disney Hall and home to the Museum of Contemporary Art.
