Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre

Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre Group presents Shakespeare's Hamlet, which marks the group's 20th anniversary season. The play begins July 6 and runs through August 12, with shows on Fridays at 8:30 PM and Sundays at 7:00 PM.

Hamlet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It is the story of the Prince of Denmark: the revenge he exacts on his uncle and subsequent descent into madness.

Starring Rafael Goldstein as the title character and Maya Erskine as Ophelia, the actors receive praise for their portrayal of the characters. Many critics also applaud Denise Devin for the direction of the play. NohoArtsDistrict.com gives a glowing review: "Small theatre, small production, but a big bang of entertainment! Director Denise Devin took unarguably Shakespeare’s most popular play and gave it a fresh look in a small venue. Casting her characters with some of the most talented performers I have seen in a while."

During this time, ZJU Theatre Group is showcasing other shows as well, including The Blood of MacBeth and Vanessa Cate's Down & Dirty. The The Blood of MacBeth runs from July 14 to August 19, every Saturday at 8:30 PM and Sunday at 3:00 PM. Down & Dirty starts August 4 and ends September 15 every Saturday at 11 PM.
