What does professionalism mean in the American theater? This is the question asked by a new national research study conducted by Yale University. On Tuesday, March 19, LA STAGE Alliance hosted the first of five LA STAGE Talks at KPCC's Crawford Family Forum. Michael Bateman, Yale University, presented the findings of this new study and talked with leaders of the Los Angeles theater community about its relevance to the L.A. theater landscape. Audience members were encouraged to lend their thoughts to the discussion of what it means to be a professional and how the concept of professionalism is evolving in the arts.
