Béla Fleck and Brooklyn Rider

Friday, February 7, 2014, 8:00pm
Valley Performing Arts Center California State University, Northridge 18111 Nordhoff St Northridge, CA 91330 Map and directions

Grammy Award-winner Béla Fleck is quite possibly the premier banjo player in the world. He has virtually reinvented the image and the sound of the banjo through a remarkable performing and recording career that has taken him all over the musical map and on a range of solo projects and collaborations.

This performance with Brooklyn Rider is a match made in heaven. Brooklyn Rider's desire to use the rich medium of the string quartet as a vehicle for communication across a large span of history, geography and genres fuses perfectly with Béla Fleck's inventive imagination. This is classical music as reinvented and revived by five forward looking musical innovators.
