Come to a dance-filled, backyard get-together buzzing with the international flavor that energizes the American sound. Ballet Hispánico ignites the stage with their trademark “CARMEN.maquia," taken to even greater heights as Alyssa Park provides Sarasate fantasy fireworks on violin. Colombian singer Catalina Cuervo breaks your heart wide open with the poignancy of Lin-Manuel Miranda's “Breathe.”
And in a patriotic one-two punch, trumpeter Rob Schaer plays a selection from the score of “Lincoln,” and friend of MUSE/IQUE Norman Lear reads to us from the Declaration of Independence, taking us back to the values of freedom and democracy this country was founded on. Everyone’s invited to celebrate music and freedom on a global scale.
