The Music Center

Since the Music Center first opened our doors, we have been a major contributor to the Los Angeles cultural fabric recognized for our dedication to artistic excellence.
Our amazing houses, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Ahmanson Theatre Mark Taper Forum and the 2003 addition of the Frank Gehry designed Walt Disney Concert Hall comprise today's 11-acre Music Center Campus. The original site designed by architect Welton Becket was established largely through the extraordinary efforts of Dorothy Buffum Chandler. The Music Center also serves as an anchor for the Grand Avenue Project, the revitalization of downtown Los Angeles.

The Joffrey Ballet: Cinderella

Dorothy Chandler Pavilion
January 28-31, 2010

The Joffrey Ballet returns to the Music Center with Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella, considered one of his greatest full-length ballets. Performed in three acts, the classic rags-to-riches story comes to life in a stunning ballet set to Serge Prokofiev's brilliant score, with breathtaking sets and costumes designed by David Walker. Join Joffrey's Artistic Staff along with Sasha Anawalt, arts journalist and author of "The Joffrey Ballet: Robert Joffrey and the Making of an American Dance Company," for a pre-performance discussion beginning one hour prior to curtain.
