A Commitment to Southern California
Eight years ago, Southern California Public Radio became the Southland's only 24/7 public radio news service, broadcasting from our flagship station 89.3 KPCC.
We've grown tremendously while never wavering from our commitment to provide in-depth, independent, balanced news and information. We've also worked to strengthen the bonds that unite Southern California's diverse communities through such provocative and insightful programs as AirTalk with Larry Mantle and Patt Morrison.
Since 2000, Southern California Public Radio has:
» increased its newsroom from 3 to 34 staff journalists» garnered 199 journalism awards
» expanded our broadcasting and news coverage into Orange County, the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley
» provided live streaming, podcasts, and e-newsletters through our website
» and grown from 220,000 to more than 600,000 weekly listeners
Today, SCPR is a trusted and significant civic institution for Southern California, and this is only the beginning. To extend and improve this valuable public service, we need your help.
