If you live in Fullerton, chances are good you know the name Kelly Thomas. He's the homeless, mentally ill man who died after coming into violent contact with Fullerton police officers. Ron Thomas is shown at right at a memorial for his son.

The fate of the police will be decided at a trial, but the image of the city, its police force, City Council members and overall livability is being judged, for better or worse, by residents, workers and visitors.
