Seldom does one school -- and surrounding community -- have to grapple with such difficult incidents. But that's what's facing teachers, parents and administrators at Miramonte Elementary School in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
One teacher suicide, one charged with 23 counts of lewd acts with students, another removed and arrested on suspicion of inappropriate behavior. The entire teaching and support staff was reassigned pending an all-staff review, and now 85 of the teachers have filed a grievance against LAUSD.
What's going on? What should change? Is this just a fluke?
