The South Coast Air Quality Management District sponsors a green technology forum in Pasadena Monday and Tuesday. KPCC’s Molly Peterson has more.
The forum is billed first as a networking opportunity, in a message from the chair of the AQMD. Legislators, regulators and regulated businesses will be there. Among the event’s sponsors are the state’s air resources board, utilities like Southern California Edison, and corporations like Chevron.
The Pasadena convention center will also play host to sessions with technical experts who will make brief presentations and then talk with businesses in each field. Sessions include different kinds of vehicle technology, renewable energy and green building.
Democratic assembly speaker Karen Bass will join the welcome panel. At lunch, state controller John Chiang will take part in a discussion about green technology’s venture capital opportunities.
