Former LA police chief reacts to Bratton resignation

The man Bill Bratton replaced as Los Angeles Police chief offered a brief reaction to news of his resignation.

Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks served five years as police chief.

Bernard Parks: "I just wish him well and thank him for his service. That’s it."

Parks retired as police chief when the L.A. Police Commission and then-mayor, James Hahn, blocked him from serving a second five-year term. Bratton was midway through his second term as LAPD chief when he announced his resignation today, effective at the end of October.
