UCLA student stabbed in chemistry lab

A female UCLA student was stabbed several times this afternoon in a chemistry lab.

She is being treated at UCLA Medical Center for multiple wounds including in her neck.

Police got the call at 12:20 this afternoon.

Officials found the wounded student on the sixth floor at Young Hall, which is the chemistry building.

Police arrested a male student there. Police would not release additional details.

Authorities haven’t said what kind of relationship the two may have had beyond working together in the lab.

Officials have closed off the building while they are investigating.
