"The two officers are still at the hospital being reated for their injuries, but I don't know their current cnodition," Lt. Paula Kreefft, a watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division, said before dawn. She said the accident was not a result of a police pursuit or response to a call for service.
Officer John Farish of the LAPD's West Traffic Division, which was investigating the crash, said the squad car was traveling on Venice Boulevard "when a woman tried to enter onto Venice from Glyndon Avenue, where there is a stop sign."
"The final report will have to sort out who was at fault," he said.

I live on the corner of this intersection. Based on the damage done to the civilian's car and eyewitness accounts, the officer's car was traveling between 50 and 70 miles an hour without their lights or sirens on.
It was terrible how about twelve police cars showed up almost 10 minutes prior to the fire department or ambulance.
All witnesses claimed it was the officers fault.

I am a family member at the hospital right now. If you have witness information, please contact me via email at tiffanyluv@gmail.com. Your prayers for Devin are appreciated.

This report clearly draws only from police sources. Perhaps the reporters were unaware of the two dozen or so witnesses that gathered at the scene? Or the police attempts to intimidate the citizens from observing what they were calling a "crime scene"?- many from their own property.
It took intervention for the citizens to be assured of their constitutional rights and for the officers to be reminded of the laws of the country they serve. Perhaps your journalists need to be reminded that their job is not to regurgitate official accounts- or did the L.A. County Sheriff's Department not comment? Surely they followed through with an independent investigation of the accident, given the agitation and behavior of the many officers at the scene?
To the family member, I hope that the police have apologised deeply and sincerely to you and your family. Know that what the officer was doing- speeding without lights or sirens- is illegal. If there was also an attempt to cover up the officers' part in the accident- or to somehow implicate the young woman through leaving something in her car- perhaps the witnesses can help you there. I pray for your family member and I hope that LAPD can behave honorably toward her and your family.

Shaunnah and Ron,
I'm so deeply sorry for the impending loss of your daughter. I remember her in Massachusetts kayaking and swinging on rope swing on the Connecticut River. These are memories I'll have forever-
Love,

By the way Shaunnah, get a good lawyer, a copy of the police car report ( the actual video) and I believe they have cameras at your intersections there in California. I work in an ER and I know what they will try to do.

I live right at this intersection and heard the crash. I went outside immediately and saw the damage. I personally spoke to the 2 eyewitnesses that were already at the scene both said that the driver of the BMW was not at fault as the police cruiser was barreling along Venice Blvd with NO sirens or flashing lights. The driver was attempting to make a legal right turn when the cruiser struck her car at very high speed. The police statement above, from Lt. Paula Kreefft, indicates that the police car in question was not, I repeat NOT on a call or in high speed pursuit. 12 to 15 other police cars swarmed the scene in the next 2 to 3 minutes while it took about 15 minutes for an ambulance to arrive. After questioning witnesses police began to become agitated with the amount of on-lookers and asked people to return to their homes. I and another person (who was an eyewitness moved off of the sidewalk onto private property while continuing to observe the scene. We were soon approached by a 'superior' of the officers who told us that we were "interfering with a CRIME SCENE!" and would be arrested if we did not leave the area immediately. I returned to my apartment but continued to carefully observe the scene from my front balcony until about 4am. I saw police entering the vehicle without wearing rubber gloves and then taking pictures. However, the official police photographer had already taken about 3 or 4 dozen pictures and had left the scene.
Now, on the KCAL website there is a written report and video report that claims the police WERE responding to a call and that the driver of the BMW RAN A RED LIGHT and slammed into the police cruiser. Follow this link to see that report:
http://cbs2.com/local/Crash.LAPD.Car.2.1252206.html
First of all THERE IS NO TRAFFIC LIGHT AT THIS INTERSECTION!! NONE!!
Second, the damage to the BMW was all squarely on the drivers side, not on the front. If she had hit them surely the damage would have been in the front of her car. Clearly her car was struck at VERY high speed by the police car.
Third and most important, this report completely contradicts what the witnesses saw - why is there no mention of witnesses or witness statements in any of the meager reporting on this accident.
To the injured woman, may you recover fully from the accident. To the family, I am so sorry for the injuries to your loved one. I hope that the truth will stay alive and that you will see compensation and sincere apologies.

I heard the sound of the terrible impact and ran out to the stairwell to see what was going on. To my surprise, the accident was right in front of our apt building. They taped off our entire building as a crime scene since the police car was steps from our front door.
First of all, I have to commend the off-duty EMT who lived on our block for rushing out and helping the victim. He got in there and tried to help the woman literally minutes after the impact. Everyone from our building was watching in fear of the woman's safety as we could clearly see she was not moving at all. There had to be over 30 people watching the whole scene.
Secondly, why did 10+ police cars rush to the scene within a matter of 5 minutes? Probably trying to cover their asses. Did all the patrol cars need to be there? No. However, it took over 10-15 minutes for the ambulance to come. The minute they arrived, they went into the car and tried to resuscitate her. This continued as they were pulling her out of the car. We were all wondering why that ambulance was not leaving for the hospital. It seemed like they were there with her inside for more than 10 minutes.
Finally, a few apt residents said that there was a bus on the corner of Venice and Glyndon that could have blocked the view of the BMW as she was trying to turn right onto Glyndon. They said it was stopped at the bus stop when they got to the stairwell and that the cops told the bus to leave when they were taping off the corner. I don't know if it's true. I guess that is easily verifiable through a bus log. However, it doesn't make sense to me why neither the police car nor the BMW didn't see each other at a time when there aren't many cars.
This was a terrible scene. It felt like I was watching a TV show. The funny thing is that there was a blue Mercedez Benz that was parked on the street. It narrowly escaped being hit by both the police car and the BMW.
I really hope the woman fully recovers from her accident. And I do hope the truth will be revealed soon and not be hidden by the LAPD.

I found it strange that there were so many members of LAPD present so quickly after the accident, and yet it took nearly 15 solid minutes for any form of ambulatory help to arrive -- especially when there is a LAFD station not 4 blocks west on Venice Blvd. Call it what you will, but I found it rather odd that the police were so concerned with locking off the area, and keeping people out... yet spent so little time focusing on the victims inside the BMW. From where I stood inside the building, there was little interaction with the BMW victims until the Fire Dept. appeared, and then suddenly everyone jumped to action.
If they could be put on trial for outright obnoxious arrogance, the LAPD would surely be put away for life. I hope that everyone is ok, but I sure hope they feel the heat for this one. Our tax dollars are not paying them to hotrod, and they would be wise to remember it is the citizens of Los Angeles who cut their paychecks
P.S.I also find it poor news coverage that this article only lists the status of the officers involved and not that of those in the other vehicle. Where is the balance?

I am a friend that lives across the alley from Shaunnah. My thoughts and prayers are with you. This is a time when we all come together and support and love one another. It's a tragic event and I hope justice is served and the truth comes out...so not surprised LAPD tries to cover it up....they are no better than the other gangs and thugs in LA when it comes to accepting responsibility for their actions. Most PD officers are honorable and hard-working public servants. It's those at the top that we have to watch carefully. Shame on them.

The latest changing of the police story. From a recent posting on ABC's local website. "Police say the woman was headed northbound on Glyndon Avenue in her BMW when she missed a stop sign at Venice Boulevard. They say a police squad car, which was traveling eastbound, struck her car in the intersection."
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/los_angeles&id=7069059
Keep digging everyone... the truth will come out!

I love the title of the abc story, "Woman collides with LAPD cruiser" when by all eyewitness accounts the cruiser struck Devins car in the driver side. The title clearly insinuates she was at fault which apparently will be vigorously disputed by eyewitness...the media f'in sucks...can they get anything right or are they under the thumb of the LAPD?
3 months, 3 weeks ago
IF..the BMW did a quick stop before turning right out onto Venice Blvd,
and, at that moment,
IF..the LAPD squad car was speeding (with no lights or siren) on Venice Blvd.
and, at that moment,
IF..there was a bus stopped near the corner, somewhat blocking the view for both the BMW and the squad car-
This possibly could be the shared responsibility of both parties-
IF...the BMW did not see the oncoming squad car (because it was literally NOT THERE one moment, but THERE the next because of going so fast) and pulled out in front of it...
and
IF...the squad car was speeding (with no lights or siren) as if Venice Boulevard were some sort of freeway....
A recipe for disaster..My heartfelt condolences for ALL those involved. The truth of what happened must come out.

First off, what is the big deal about 10 or 20 police cars showing up at the scene? Police officers treat each other like family. If you were in the immediate area and heard your loved one was just in an accident and possibly hurt, you are telling me you wouldn't respond to the scene and try to either help, or console them? Give me a break.
Since everyone is jumping to conclusions and trying to blame the police (a popular hobby in Lost Angeles), I'll do the same to the victim.
Let me guess why she blew the stop sign. 1. She was probably a bit intox on either booze or marijuana. 2. She was on her mobile phone either talking or texting. 3. She was probably in a rush and not paying attention, like the rest of Generation ADD.
As for the different stories on the different news websites, c'mon people, have you ever been a part of an event where you were a primary player and woke up the next day to see a totally different version in the news? It's called reporting, not science. They receive multiple sources and drain it through a filter and the general public receives a snipit of what actually happened. Get a grip.
You people have been watching too much LA Confidential. Start living life in the real world.
3 months, 3 weeks ago
Your comments in defense of these cops might not be so disgusting if everyone on this board was mindlessly bashing them, but these are people who were *at the scene*...witnesses to the incident and/or immediate aftermath being told to "go back inside" and that they were "interfering with a crime scene". Now every headline and news story seems to be faulting Devin, not the cops who were driving so fast as to kill or nearly kill her.
This very same thing happened to my mother to a lesser extent... a black unmarked cop car with those antennas all over it was speeding and 100% at fault hit her; he was barreling down the rightmost lane, in traffic, trying to beat the red light and hit her trying to make a left in front of him, totaled her car and put her too in the hospital. This cop was able to make the whole thing her fault somehow with the insurance companies.
But this thing is worse. "LA Confidential"? You must be kidding. Just a police force with a little too much power looking out for #1. Time to do what we can to real them back in...yank on their leash when you vote, write to your legislator/congressman and let them know what you think!

to LA Angels Already Lost. you are disgusting and i am ashamed that you are a fellow citizen of this city. regardless if people are blaming the police or not, to blame the victim as you did is a travesty while it is clear that loved ones are reading these comments and posting information. you clearly have no idea who this woman is. i know her personally. i hired her for the job that she was leaving when the accident happened. you have absolutely no information or knowledge of this woman, what she did as a career, what she was learning in school, what she was like, how she lived, or what she believed. had you known these things before your faulty comments you would want to bash your own head as much as i would like to at this moment.

In response to LA Angels Already Lost post:
Its one thing to defend the police but its quite another to blame the victim. You don't know Devin, who is dying in a hospital bed right now, you are not suffering from her loss like me and the rest of her family and friends are. Devin was coming out of her job @ a clinic taking care of sick people when she was struck, she was not intoxicated from a night of partying. A beautiful, kind, young woman was tragically taken from our lives and here you unaffected and self righteous ranting about Generation ADD, shame on you.

In response to LA Angels already lost post: I would like to say that I personally dont know her but I was in bed and heard a car accelerating down Venice blvd.(you know that sound when the police floor the gas pedal and are in a hurry, you have all heard it ) Ther was NO screaching BRAKES,A Metal on Metal Horrific sound. Unfortunatly it happens way to often on this corner.First off ! If it was your loved one that was hurt you also would have wondered why the EMT's didnt show up for almost 15 minutes. There is a Fire department 4 blocks west of here in Venice and a new Fire depatment 6 blocks east of her at Venice & Inglwood Blvds. You are probably law enforcement yourself ! Your stupid remarks about her being intoxicated or on her cell phone is just that ? STUPID!! You dont know Jack !! You were not there !! Or were you ? Oh yes , you were probably one of the MORONS in Uniform out in the street acting like the LAPD does nothing wrong!! Well, Let me tell you something OFFICER!! Your no different than any other person . You bleed red too ! You all act like PRICKS once you put that blue uniform on,but let me run into you at the market! I'll smash you for the dumbass comments you made about Devin,Cmon punk? Mano a Mano ! Like in the old days, back when Men were Men!! I dont need a badge and a gun!! In reality , your all just a bunch of pussy ass KIDS who were punked as a kid and now think your all that and ABUSE your authority because you have that little badge on and carry a gun!! Actually, Come to the Corner of Venice & Glyndon , 1320 Venice Blvd. ring my buzzard ,apt.420 , I will personally come down and T-BONE you at 60 miles an hour and then make you wait 15 minutes untill the EMT'S get there, then put you in the ambulance and make you wait another 10 minutes before casually takeing off like they were on a Sunday drive !! Hello in there !! Anyone Home ? There is a Human Being in that Ambulance fighting for her life!!! Cmon people of authority, If anyone should be speeding ,it should have been that ambulance ,SPEEDING off to the hospital!! Furthermore, If It would have been me speeding down Venice blvd. and I killed a Police officer , I would have been in Police custody for MANSLAUGHTER !! Someone tell me what the difference is ? Sorry but that Officer needs to be delt with one way or another!! Another thing , these two officers that that HIT DEVIN !! were walking around and talking to other officers , once the EMT's got there they both were told to lay on the floor, than they took them away as well! Hate mail is welcome ! I can be reached at xsuave420x@gmail.com , I have nothing to hide!! Whatever happend to: .......to PROTECT and to SERVE ????? OUR PRAYERS TO DEVIN AND HER FAMILY!!! Cops lay their lives on the line everyday to do their jobs- civilians do not....
I've given it a lot of thought...my sister was one of the first female officers in Phoenix until she retired with a highly distinguished career that lasted for almost 30 years. That's a long time to worry about whether or not your loved one is coming home from work, one day to the next.
It only seems right that those who make such a sacrifice would get some kind of pass in life...somewhere along the line....to "even out" the score for the risk they face every time they put on that badge.....for all of us....
But in the grand scheme of things...it can't really work that way. Each and EVERY PERSON must take responsibility for their mistakes and the consequences of those mistakes-
The truth is....in life....
EVERYBODY makes mistakes....and....NOBODY gets a pass......
So to LA Angles Already Lost- not everyone is "jumping to conclusions and trying to blame the police"- but if the squad car shares some responsibility for what happened, that aspect should not be covered-up. Cover-ups are what make people angry because they are unjust. The initial report on the news said the police were "responding to a call" and that the "BMW ran a red light" (meaning-at fault). From the start, it sounded as if there was an attempt to immediately put all the blame squarely on the driver of the BMW.
Devin would only want the truth to be told- nothing more, nothing less....
She would take responsibility for her part of this horrific event,...that was her character.....she would be sorry for the officers involved and that a mistake of her's harmed them in any way... she would be sorry this mistake would cost her her life. But she would only ask for that same level of honesty, respect and integrity to come back in her direction from the police department itself..... in the form of an acknowledgement of whatever share of responsibility lies with the officer at the wheel of the squad car. She would ask that whatever mistake the officer may or may not have made...be learned from and that there would be some meaningful consequences...that her death would be dignified by the truth being spoken, however difficult that might be.

I am OUTRAGED that the headline of this story automatically implies that this young woman was at fault. REVOLTING!!! Then, after reading witness accounts, it is so clear that there is already some kind of cover-up going on. We who knew this wonderful woman and her family will not let the LAPD get away with this. Their Wild West shenanigans have gone too far one more time, and another innocent life lost, for WHAT??? Back it up cowboys, you're putting the public at risk and it's out of hand! I am all for police who really care for the well being of the public, but it seems more so these days that they are harassing and injuring innocent people. THIS MADNESS HAS TO STOP!! Prayer and strength to the family of this beautiful woman who's life has been lost due to the recklessness of the police.

Pay no mind to LA Angels Already Lost. He's just a troll trying to stir things up. It's "flamebait". Don't fall for it. Cops are just legalized gangs, in my opinion anyway. Firemen, paramedics....those are the modern day heroes. NOT, egotistical, power hungry, corrupt officers. I'm being very general with this last statement. All cops aren't bad. But, the trend is becoming more and more troublesome. My prayers go out to Devon and her friends and family. What a shame........

I didn't see this accident and I never had the pleasure of knowing Devin. I live half way down the block from where this accident happened. Moments before the impact I could clearly hear the roaring of an engine racing up Venice Blvd. It ended at the sound of the collision. This is a familar sound up and down Venice Blvd almost nightly.and usually in the later evening and early morning hours. The police always in a hurry. But no lights or sirens, The police use it as a drag strip. I ride a bicycle but NOT on Venice Blvd. I ride on the sidewalk and would rather risk getting a ticket then getting hit. Venice Blvd is not safe with LAPD's drag racing. Something like this was bound to happen sooner or later. And it's a crying shame that a young woman had to pay such a high price for their ignorance. To the family of Devin, I am so very sorry for your loss. This was an avoidable, unfair, terrible , terrible tragedy. May peace be with you. Neighbors on Louella

I live in the complex of the scene of the accident. I was home when it happened. The officer was flooring it, no siren, all you could hear was the sound of his engine roaring down Venice and then a sound of impact that was so disturbing i became almost paralyzed by for a moment in complete shock. It sounded like the car went through the front entrance of the building practically. If i was asked what the one thing that stood out from this was it would be the fact that no EMT or Paramedic was at the scene for what would be 10-15 minutes, which in this case is clearly a matter of life and death. There are stations very close by, and hospitals minutes away by ambulance. I did not see any attention by the police being given to the BMW. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Devin. As a resident of Venice Blvd, i hear the racing all night long.

Shauna, Devin's Mother, is a very dear friend of mine. I love and care for her deeply. The agony ... the tears ... the grief ... this beautiful woman is feeling right now is unbearable. The pain and anger she is feeling right now is unlike anything you can possibly begin to imagine, unless of course you have experienced a loss of your own child. This is so unjust. How can a Mother begin to imagine why? There is no greater loss than a parent losing their child. I've been praying these past two days that the officer would come forward and do the right thing and bring some light to this pain and suffering. Praying and asking God for guidance. I can only hope the officer has been reading this blog and I can only imagine he must be distraught over this tremendous accident. His coming forward will not bring Devin back, but it will at least offer some insight on human kindness, compassion and honesty … and integrity.
To the officer involved in the tragic loss of Devin's life. We beg you to come forward. Please help reinstall the people's faith in the LAPD. Please, please, please. I ask you? Do you have a child of your own? If so, do it for your child, yourself, for Devin and her family. Please.

Thank you a thousand times over to every one of you who has posted your eyewitness accounts. These are now out there for people to read and no cop can threaten to arrest you for exercising your right of free speech. Well, they CAN threaten, but it ain't exactly constitutional. I was informed that something between 6-8 of you were directly threatened with arrest for not going back inside and continuing to view the scene. Which of you was the guy who hid in the bushes so he could continue to witness what was going on? There was also a man in a white van that got towed by the police for driving into a "crime scene". Is he posting here? Wonder what the cops told him.
One thing that bothered me that I noticed is that the accident is reported as happening at 12:20pm. This is a lie. The accident happened sometime between 11:15 and 11:30pm. One of the security guards nearby made it there around 11:30, right after he heard the crash. There were two eyewitnesses on the street at the time that actually saw the crash and then a lot of people poured out from apartments. There were also people who tweeted around the time of the crash who heard the noise, didn't necessarily go out to check it out, but posted along the lines of, "what the hell is happening?" Those tweets will be time-dated. So if anyone was checking the clock, can you note the time of things? I was thinking this might be important in court, and luckily everything posted is there for the record.
I just went to check on this angle, and I find myself perplexed. When I search twitter for "LAPD" and various other topics, it returns many tweets. When I search for my keyword phrase of the previous day, "lapd glyndon crash", which formerly returned many tweets, the message, "older tweets are temporarily unavailable" is returned. The searches "lapd glyndon" and "glyndon crash" also return this message, but "lapd crash" and "glyndon" return results. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm going to contact twitter and see what they say.

Men in blue do not allow a couple of your men to make your entire dept. look like a bunch of cowboys whose honor and service is belittled by the arrogance and stupidity of two joy riding cops who hopefully are wracked with fear, shame and ungodly remorse. Make them come forward to tell the truth
Because the truth will come forward - If they don’t and you wont tell it , no matter what you think you can do to hide, cover up, intimidate it or wish it away. we will effortlessly bring unstoppable justice.
Really stop and think is this how you wan to be known ! Don't you want your family your country to be proud of what you stand for.
Honor us with the truth show us justice thru the letter of the law - those you swore to serve or will we know that was bull - you are not worthy to carry the title "To Protect and serve" . We will never rest until all involved in the cover up are brought to our justice our punishment . This we swear and promise to serve and protect your men and women in blue.
This woman was a gift in our world in ways you i want you to understand. She was a simple, beautiful open loving, much loved present committed woman who understood and honored the miracle of life. She worked hard, to support herself studying for her degree as she worked in a treatment center and our community , where she cared for many selflessly - her capacity to live life clean is so clearly seen by the hundreds and i kid you not hundreds of men women from every age and walk of life who came to her bedside in shock horror and such anguish over this senseless loss . You will see hundreds and hundreds of people she touched come forward every day men and women of simple position and others of great power until justice and truth prevail -DO NOT take the cowards path and try to brush this aside thru tactics of intimidation and fear for you will see a wrath so great that your children children will be talking about it when they are old and you are gone. This we swear to protect and serve our and your community through truth and honor in Devin's name.

To the friends and family of Devin,
I'm so so sorry for your loss. I did not know Devin but it sounds like she was a light in your lives and the lives of everyone who knew her. I know that at a time of grief it can be beyond difficult to think about justice, but I think that what your family member Wendy Tataro points out about hiring a good lawyer is important. I hope you can find the best- the absolute best- lawyer, and that everyone here and who knew her can help. This may seem odd coming from a complete stranger, but maybe not, given what kind of person it sounds like Devin was. I want to offer you all the help I can give, whether that's simply continuing to write letters to news outlets and posting and trying to find the right people to shed enough light on this that nothing can remain in the shadows, or something more involved.
My greatest worry is that while you are mourning the loss of Devin you will also have to start to build your case and endure all the heart-wrenching of being treated ...not very nicely... if the cops try to deny that they were at fault. I'm afraid, too, that investigation of this case may stay solely with Internal Affairs of LAPD or that if the Sheriffs do investigate they will decide that they obligation to protect their colleagues outweighs their duty to uphold the Peace and the Law. If you already have a good lawyer, if you have any powerful friends, please mobilize them and use them to mobilize us. Are there important details that might be harder to remember if witnesses do not record them now? Are any potential witnesses being intimidated? I'm sorry to add this editorial to the discussion, but it really bothered me and I'm planning to write my own reply to the Times. I hope some of you might write to them too. The timing of it struck me as callous, but perhaps the LA Times is completely uninformed of what happened. Perhaps people here can enlighten them.

This is what you get when you live in a "I'm a victim" society. All of you are so concerned with pointing the finger at the most visible element of the story, i.e. the police.
All of the sheep here are looking to indict the police, but no one is really concerned with the actual decedent or her family. And the friends and family are only worried about their civil suit and the amount of $$$ they may receive.
Shame on all of you.

To Relax-
I believe you're wrong about this being about money. It's about TRUTH and JUSTICE for Devin and her grieving family. With so many witnesses just why should the police be able to not tell the truth and be allowed to manipulate the story? BTW... I'm married to an officer and I'm also a parent.
Shame on you for not wanting the truth.

To "Relax":
You clearly have not read the entirety of the posts here. There are honest heartfelt expressions for the victim and her family. I have been in contact with the family since Friday and can tell you that their sense of loss is profound. If you lived on Venice blvd and regularly saw, with your own eyes, LAPD cars dangerously speeding down the street with no sirens or lights you might understand the intensity of the outrage that, finally, this reckless behavior has cost an innocent person their life. No news outlet has bothered to get information from eyewitnesses. These witnesses saw a horrible accident that in their eyes was caused by the police and that is now trying to be covered up. For those of us who were actually there we cannot, in good conscience, let the LAPD cover-up the death of an innocent person. If you think that classifies us as 'sheep' as you say you have a very skewed view of reality.
Shame on you for writing what you did.
You clearly weren't there and have no understanding of what actually happened. You seem to think that just rolling over and letting an injustice happen is people being 'sheep'. When people who were there know that an injustice is unfolding before their eyes and they stay vigilant to get the truth to come out, that not only shows compassion and solidarity for/with the family it shows the best part of human nature.

Dear Devin's family,
It is hard to know what to say at a time like tis, so I will just say "peace to Devin's family and friends". I met her briefly as she was a close friend of Jessica's, my buddy Neva's granddaughter, She was lovely, fun, and beautiful.

As a resident of 1400 Venice, it breaks my heart to see the makeshift memorial for the young lady who passed away. The image of her being pulled out of her BMW and being resuscitated by the EMT is still in my mind. Condolences to her family and friends. I hope the truth comes out and justice is served.

The same people complaining about speeding police cars, are probably the same ones who complain when the police don't respond fast enough to their own 911-generated emergencies.
Next time you have a problem with your Big Mac order, don't call the police, call your lawyer.

to LA ANGLES, RELAX, AND IN THE (K)NOW: for all we know, you are the same person with the same agenda. GET A LIFE. SHAME ON YOU FOR WRITING HURTFUL MESSAGES. Clearly, you are NOT in the "know." I am disgusted by the fact that some police think they are above the law, and other police are willing to cover up for their colleagues in such a situation. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.
THE FACT IS: IF THE POLICE CAR WASN'T SPEEDING WITH THEIR LIGHTS OFF, THIS WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED, AND DEVIN WOULD STILL BE ALIVE. THEY WERE BREAKING THE VERY LAWS THAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO UPHOLD. WHY DO YOU THINK EVERYONE IS SO OUTRAGED BY THIS? THEY ARE THE PEOPLE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO TRUST IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS AND IN THIS CASE, THEY HAVE LET US ALL DOWN IMMENSELY.
And another thing: I highly highly doubt the that dozens of witnesses are all "out to get" the police. It's also no coincidence that they are all telling the same story. It's because THEY ARE TELLING THE TRUTH! They are EXPLAINING what they witnessed.
My thoughts and prayers are with Devin's family and friends. May she rest in peace. If it is true that the police officers were drag racing - I hope they rot in a jail cell for the rest of their lives.

I also live at the intersection of Glyndon and Venice. I heard the accident and I heard a bus drive off, but I did not see the accident itself. There were NO police sirens before the crash. Seconds after hearing the crash I was outside along with several other people from our building. I did see the BMW and just as others have said, all it's damage was on the driver's side of the car. And just as others have said as well, multiple police cruisers were at the scene within minutes. At this point I went upstairs. Although it looks as if many witnesses saw more than I did, I can tell you that everything I saw has been accurately portrayed by the witness statements above.
Now with the flowers and candles in front of our building, I found out the driver's name is Devin and she was killed in the accident. An absolutely terrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go to Devin and her family.

I, too, live near the intersection on Venice Blvd and, while I can't contribute additional information in regards to how the police officers acted towards eye witnesses, I can be added to the list of confirming two details that LA police officers clearly want to dissuade people from knowing:
1.) There were no sirens or lights on prior to the collusion.
2.) Multiple police vehicles were immediately on the scene before an ambulance and fire trucks were called onto the scene.
These are facts, and cannot be disputed. Whomever filed the information otherwise can only be regarded as purposefully misleading the media and the public. Not only such acts profoundly amoral on the most base levels, it is also criminal.
My heart goes out to the family of the victim.

The motor pool division of the police force is basically just an extension program for the unpopular bunch from every high school, except now they get a locker room of their own to play grab ass. They need to protect each other with baseless, boneheaded insensitive allegations about this poor girl, because when bullies are caught alone with their pants down, the injured masses will rise up and crush them like the little weasel bugs that they are. Those who get bullied often become the bullies...I don't think it's any more sinister or complicated than that.
90% of Americans' contact with police is via traffic cops harassing them to make Uncle Sam's monthly ticket quota; is it any wonder we feel the way we do about the sort of cops that have made unfounded negative remarks about the victim on this page?

In the 3 years I've lived at this location, I've been home and witnessed the aftermath of 4 accidents at this exact intersection. Two have involved police cruisers.
To Devin and her family, words are not enough to convey how terribly sorry many of us are for what has happened. May she be at peace.

I'm sure this broad was to blame. Policemen receive top-notch vehicle training. These cats drive up to 100MPH in pursuits sometimes. Give them the benefit of the doubt. I feel bad for the family losing a child, but don't take your anger out on the cops. That's why they call it an accident. You just say, "Sorry about that..." and move on. When you are at a stop sign, the opposing traffic has the right of way. End of story. I can almost see the shark lawyers circling the corpse on this one. To the family: Be well and live your life. Your child is in heaven now. To the police: Don't listen to these limo libs in Venice. Their only purpose for you is when their iPud gets stolen.

So the disinformation campaign has begun! I had been posting to this blog under the name M&M but someone else has taken that same name and has now posted the last 2 comments under that name. I have changed my posting name but feel sure that whoever is trying to discredit the information I have previously posted here will keep trying to dismantle credibility! All of you who have been posting truthful statements beware that you may also get targeted.
To whoever is spreading disinformation, have some respect for the young woman who lost her life. Think about how you would feel if this had happened to someone close to you. Stop the games because many, many people are working hard to get the truth to come out and we will succeed!
3 months, 3 weeks ago
Wow. I'm just flabbergasted at some of the insensitive comments directed at actual witnesses of the accident. People like these are part of the problem and not the solution. They make horrible statements based on absolutely nothing. Whereas, many of the posted comments are based on fact. These lost souls just need to go away. Leave this site if you have nothing but negative comments to make. Someone died you lunatics. What if that was your sister or mother. Wouldn't YOU feel outrage? Wouldn't YOU want the truth? It's not about money or suing the LAPD. It's about justice. If these officers broke the law, they should be punished accordingly. If they didn't, then it is what it is....an unfortunate accident. But, for these few idiots to post such horrible comments makes me cringe. It makes me shake with anger. Those comments are so inappropriate. They have no place in this forum. If they have no ties to the story or anyone involved, just don't leave a post. Just move on about your day and let those who knew Devin, or those who witnessed the accident, leave their thoughts/memories here without being badgered or harassed. I find it strange that the ones leaving the negative posts actually don't leave their real names. What are they afraid of? If you feel so strongly about your comments, leave your info, starting with your eal and full name. There should be nothing for you to be ashamed of, right? One poster, "Liberate Yourself", has gone the extra mile and posted his personal information. I suggest you do the same. People are such cowards sometimes......My prayers are with Devins family, friends and anyone like me, who didn't know Devin, but, are outraged at the way this is being handled by both the LAPD, mainstream media and some heartless idiots that post here. I hope and pray that the truth comes out. The "real" truth. Not a "version" of the truth....but the TRUTH.

I just happened to watch Observe and Report last night. If anyone wants an insight into the kind of pumped-up, insensitive, blowhard mindlessly "supporting" the cops here, take a look at the creep in that movie. Only a jerk would casually dismiss the reckless killing of a young woman of two joyriding guys in supercharged cars, even if the drivers were police officers. I think even most cops would agree; just maybe not wannabe cops.

Just heard about this tragedy in my neighborhood. My son called, in deep sadness told me about the death of this very beautiful young life to pass away so suddenly at the hands of our enforcement department which is there to protect our lives. How inconsistent it is to have our police officials to be joy riding on our streets in my neighborhood or anyone else's. I think all citizens should do a watchful vigil of these arrogant officers and write them up for their negligence. If these officers are not prosecuted for this awful behavior properly, I will use every aspect of the court to take an immediate position against this LAPD divison who is protecting these two officers from this crime. I will not allow this to be swept under the carpet as most police enforces have a habit of doing when they are TRULY AT FAULT. This could have been my daughter or son on this dark intersection; I feel really sad for her and her family. I knew Devon thru my son only and she was not a careless or RECKLESS PERSON as someone defending the officer's speeding behavior suggested.

This story is shocking and it is pathetic that the media has chosen not cover this issue. With all due respect if this was simply a manner of a police accident the police would have released a statement instead of hiding behind the facts. I am wish all the best to Devin's family and we need to get this story out there and pressure the media to do their jobs and bring justice to Devin's family.

I just recently moved off of this boulevard (corner of Venice and Louella). I was frequently awoken at night to police cars speeding passed at late hours. I have also witnessed their erratic driving while in front of my apartment in the evening. This is horrible news, but I can't say I am surprised. I was just having a conversation two weeks ago, about how they were going to kill someone one of these days. As a former EMT, I understand the seriousness of calls, however, it is the primary responsiblity of all law enforcement and emergency services to protect those in the community. This includes arriving to a call safely, and not placing our citizens at risk while responding. (Even more unfortunate is that they did not have on their lights and sirens.) I feel remorse for not reporting this frequent driving behavior to the LAPD, however, guess I figured they would not be receiving my call well. Hopefully, this accident serves as a wake up call...though it comes too late and with great cost. My condolences go out to the victim, her family and friends.

just another example of LAPD being just another Gang. They have been the most notorious scandal ridden department in the history of police and this is just one of the few rare incidents where their dishonesty comes to light, it's hard to confront a group with so much power and now they are trying to cover up what amounts to a vehicular homicide, my question is what do their toxicology reports look like.
What a shame that such terrible people should cost the life of an innocent.

I live on Venice and Glyndon. I woke up to the crash, and saw the entire scene unfold from my balcony. The Police are liars! Beautiful Devin was cheated out of a very long life because these two cops were speeding without reason. There is no light on this street and the only two witnesses said that it was most definitely the cops fault. Cops didn't even attempt to stop, there were no skid marks... if they had been going the speed limit, this never would have happened. I knew Devin and she was such a sweet girl, and they better not claim some bull intoxication on her part because I KNOW SHE WASN'T. RIP Devin.

This is a sad situation, and not warranted by either parties actions. However, we have a one death that has spawned many collateral victims. Sadly, there is no remedy at law that will compensate those departed outside of money and criminal penalty.
The case will evolve around a negligence standard. Tort liability for negligence may be imposed on the public entity even if the employee is exempt from complying with traffic rules under Veh. C. s.21055 if the employee fails to exercise due care for the safety of others on the highways. Veh C. 21056.
Clearly travelling at a speed above and beyond the posted limit, embarks on on the sub-standard duty of care. The several eyewitness accounts stating there was no lights or sirens just before the crash, places the police officer and city in a position of liability.
Additionally, if it is true that the officers attempted to cover up this gross negligent activity in order to escape liability, then each of those involved are criminally liable. Moreover, depending on the actions taken by the cops in respect to the eyewitness, there maybe a civil rights case against many of the officers under 42 USC Section 1983.
All witness need to write a detailed description of what they experienced so as not to forget minor details, which may prove to be major details later.

This is a wake up call for both the citizens of Venice and for the Los Angeles Police Department. This intersection has been a horrible intersection for anyone that attempts to make a right turn onto Venice Blvd or attempts to go straight across and make a turn onto Venice after passing the center divider. I do agree that citizens need to call the West Traffic Division of LAPD and ask for more motor officers to conduct speed enforcement. It's not only the police that speed down that road it’s everyone for the most part. Venice is the largest, widest and most direct roadway from the beach to the freeway. It's used by the visitors to Venice to return home quickly and also by the police to get to where their calls of service are in a quick manner. I did not see the accident happen and it appears that only two people did from all the post. I personally would not get involved in this investigation if you did not observe the collision occur. It's not fair to the victim or to the police officers involved. Yes, I'm very sure that the truth will come out on this matter surely because a law enforcement department was involved. Officers do get punished for their actions when they are found to be at fault. Many officers have lost their jobs recently within the police department so rest assured that if the investigation concludes that they were at fault then they will receive the punishment that are given and nothing less. When a 911 call is dispatched and an injury has occurred then the Fire Department is the first to be dispatched and then the police department. I honestly believe that the police are not trying to cover anything up on this accident. Officers at the scene along with a citizen that had medical experience assisted in helping the young girl that was in the BMW. So give the police a little room to breathe.
3 months, 3 weeks ago
I was in the military and the fire and police departments are structured as if it's a military organization. We in the military stick together and will come at a moments notice when our brothers or sisters need us. That's the same attitude that fire and police have when they brothers or sisters are in need. That's probably why all the police were there. The question you have to ask yourself were they all standing around or were some or all helping the female in the BMW. I believe some if not a lot helped the girl. They are trained to be first responders to accident scenes because fire departments will not ever a scene until it is rendered safe to enter. The police can and will provide the medical services needed until the fire department can arrive. I'm not sure why the fire department didn't leave as fast as what the on-lookers would have hoped for but I'm guessing there is a good reason why. I'm sure the family can and will speak to the fire department and they will answer those and many other questions that the family will have. I didn't see the accident occur therefore I will not say anything about that for that exact reason. I do believe that intersection is horrible and they only way to correct that problem would be to make the whole curb of Venice Blvd a no parking zone. I believe from reading all the posts and knowing that intersection very well that would have saved a life and a lot of heartache. The family is reading these posts and to all the people that are blaming the police, STOP and to all the people blaming the driver of the BMW, STOP! We all must work together on this matter and other issues in the future. Stop acting as if we all don't share something. The police are there to help us and we are there to help them, help us. We all must work together to make a better and safer Los Angeles. I've heard so much talk from about the neighborhood and none of it goes together. Everyone saw something different but none of those people were there. Please people, if you did not SEE the accident then stop with the lies. It's only making the family upset and the police and the driver of the BMW look bad. I feel bad for all that were involved in this terrible ordeal and I hope they all can find peace in this.
Best Wishes to all involved.

SADBUTTRUE2 - Making Venice Blvd. a no parking zone right there does not change the fact that these police were driving at ludicrous speeds with their lights and sirens off, CLEARLY breaking the law! This is such a tragic event! I have a mutual friend with the recently deceased Devin and it breaks my heart to hear about this tragedy and the police cover-up currently going on! The bottom line is, the LAPD has an image problem. They have had it for years. SMPD is not much better but at least they aren't speeding around town dangerously. I can't tell you how many times I have simply tried to acknowledge officers around town simply to tell them how much I appreciate the difficult and dangerous job they do. Most of the time, they look at me like I'm nuts if they even engage me at all. These are supposed to be people who love to protect and serve the citizens of their community. IT"S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE JUST A JOB!
This is just another example of a horrible accident/tragedy/event that the LAPD handled with the worst of discretion and care. They should hire some of the Hollywood image wranglers to show them how to do it right. God Bless Devin. I will miss seeing your cute little face in the alley! RIP. Michael

I am very familiar with the intersection as I pass it almost every day. There is NO stop light and it will be very evident as to who was to blame here with all the witnesses who were ACTUALLY at the scene. Those who were not and are speculating and making unwarranted evaluations of the situation, keep your comments to yourself. It is already as bad as it can get and should not be made worse by unfounded allegations. It just shows how incredibly stupid people can be. A young woman lost her life and people need not take on a mob mentality thinking that this indicates or suffices as sympathy. If the officers were wrong, THEY WILL BE PUNISHED.

Just wanted to clarify the time of the accident. This crash did not happen at 12:20am, as it is being reported. It happened around 11:56-11:58pm. After I heard the crash from my bedroom window, I texted my boyfriend about hearing a big accident occur in front of my building. That text was at 12:02am. After the text, I went outside and watched the whole event unfold until 12:55am.

May you rest in peace Devin.

Sounds like a tragic accident. However, if Devin was stopped at a "STOP" sign, even if the police were speeding without their lights, or without their sirens on, they would have the right of way according to traffic law. Were they breaking the law? Yes, because they are not above it and they cannot speed wrecklessly without proper lights and sirens and in an emergency situation.

It was after 1130, because I was at a car meet at Costco on Thursday night, I left to get my motorcycle at 1110pm, turned onto Venice from Lincoln, and hauled ass on that dragstrip section because it is long dark and straight, anyways I drove home fast, there were not many cars on Venice at that hour, got my bike and went back in the same direction, except I made a left onto glydon(same street as promises west la) and rode my bike down that street it was clear on Venice at that time, but it was strangly dark on that street, I came back to my car meet and was hanging out and heard a bunch of police car sirens going to a location which sounded like behind Costco, later when I left the car meet I made a right onto Venice from Lincoln, with plans on zipping up that road but I saw lots of cop lights and fire trucks I thought there was a terrorist attack. Stopped for a second, turned around and drove up Lincoln, and went home.
I really think relax guy needs to go ring the bell for apt#420!
I too like that strip of Venice blvd at night time, but its really dark, and it makes me wonder if the cops forgot to have their lights on as I often see them driving with them off.
I am really annoyed to see my crime fighting tax dollars go to waste, I think every cop in that area was at the accident site, I didn't see one cop on my way home,
My prayers go out to devin's family and to my higher power may he have his will with the officers involved in this incident.

My thoughts and prayers are with Devin's family and friends. I am very sorry for your loss. Justice will be served to the bastards that did this.

I am a family members of Devin. One of the morals that i grew up with is that if you have in anyway hurt someone, you should take responsibility for your actions. One of Devin's first concerns would have been how the officers were doing and offer her support. To my understanding, no one from the LAPD has inquired or offered their condolenses. I am from Massachusetts and i have always had respect for our police officers and they have gone far beyond their responsibilities to save people and offer their help.
I would like to thank all the people that have shown their concern for Devin and her family. I have learned though this experience that most people are good and caring and that americans will do anything to help one another. We will miss her angelic face but her spirit lives on forever.

You'll find a drug dealer in Apt. 403.

Maybe that's where the police were headed.

This is not about pointing fingers. This is about Devin and her loved ones. Even if the officer was at fault, I am positive the accident was not done with intention. I am positive Devin has already offered forgiveness. Yes, it is important to gather the facts, get witnesses and film for the truth to come out at some point. Right now, more importantly, Devin's family and friends need our love. They are in enough pain already and reading or hearing of these comments makes everything more difficult. Sure, we are all upset and angry and need to heal through those feelings but publicly lashing out at each other is just not the way Devin would have wanted it. I am sure there are people out there that don't even know her and just make comments to stir things up. We need to be the stronger ones and 'turn the other cheek'. Only love is real.

A couple things to chew on:
1) a few hours later, on that same friday night, police officers from the Pacfic Division shot and killed a man in front of his house about 2am on Midvale Av. Since the news reporting in LA is horrendous, I am sure very few people heard about it, and from the story it was hard to tell if the guy who was killed even was wielding a gun.
2) Why are people in LA not freaking out about how understaffed and slow the paramedic service of their Fire Department is? There is one paramedic unit that serves all of Venice, which is called RA63. Good luck with that one when you need it. The rest of the units that serve Venice are just fire engines with EMT's
Consider how long it would take for a paramedic unit from say.. I don't know... Pacific Palisades to reach Glyndon and Venice. Or maybe from fire station 5 near LAX. I would be curious to know if anybody noticed the number on the rescue ambulance.

One more thing.
Police cars often respond without lights and sirens to a call for service. It is standard operating procedure for the LAPD to drive with lights and sirens off unless specifically requested by dispatchers or if they are responding to the highest level calls with a threat to human life. Ironically this policy is designed to reduce accidents from speeding police cars all over the city.
Also, the police units all know where the calls are located and many units will respond silently since there is so much radio traffic to deal with and they werent necessarily dispatched, but want to provide backup for other units. They may hit the gas and go to help their fellow officers, but not let the dispatcher know they are responding until they are actually at the scene. therefore at any given point a unit may be "responding with lights and sirens off" but nobody knows they were responding until later. So who would even know except the officers in the car.

My heart and prayers go out to Devins immediate and extended family. I know Shaunna and Leigh. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I have forwarded to some media outlets to shed more light on this tragedy.
God Bless.

My comment to all the "witnesses"...your stories aren't credible or valid since your eyewitness account didn't begin until the moment of impact. Most of you commenting on here are just assuming that the cop was in the wrong. I am not a witness, nor am I a cop, just trying to look at the facts fairly. I saw several comments that people speed up and down that street everyday - and you heard the cops drag racing before they hit the innocent victim. Your memories are in retrospect. How do you know exactly what cars are speeding at all times? You don't. You just assumed because you saw a terrible accident after supposed "street racing" that it had to be the cops involved. Who knows if there was some a$$-hole speeding up ahead of the cops, then the accident happened - and you thought what you heard was actually different from the truth. I'm not taking sides, I feel bad for this innocent girl, I'm just saying you can't always assume that the cops were in the wrong. From the facts I've read, it looks like a simple case of someone misinterpreting the speed of an oncoming vehicle and pulling out in front of them, hence the damage done squarely to the drivers side of the car. Speed may have been a serious factor, but it's not the only factor.
I hope that some real witnesses, ones that SAW the accident, not just ones that HEARD the accident, come forth with info. May that poor girl rest in peace.

Hey..you dont know, what a perfect name for yourself. Your name fits you well. Where do you live? Way out in the inland empire somewhere? You are really letting your ignorance shine here. You know how we know? We know because we have balconies that overlook this street, and some of us sit on them and watch as the drag races happen over and over and over and over week after week. Unless YOU live there YOU should not be making such outlandish comments about what goes on. At 11pm at night there is virtually very little sound until you hear the cop car come reving up the road. And if you have the vantage point some of us do, YOU will be more educated, so i dont completely fault you for sounding so ignorant because you as you say YOU JUST DONT KNOW. And it does not take a forensic scientist to know that if the car was not speeding at the rate of speed it was, it would have had time to swerve correctly and miss T boning the poor girl to oblivion. That is why this country has posted speed limits on the street at 40 because they calculate the propensity for someone to avoid an accident at this speed. At 70, you have virtually no chance of escaping collision. Even if she misjudged the right of way, she would have had a chance had they not been racing in the "SLOW LANE" of the street!

Dear Shaunna and family,
I am so sorry Devin was taken from you in such a sudden and tragic way. I will always treasure my memories of my trip to California. Devin was a wonderful person with a heart of gold and I am sure she is a "Ray of Sunshine" in heaven as she was here. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I LOVE YOU
Aunt Elaine

Narcs: Apt #420. Raid it and you'll probably find mary jane.
As for the supposed victim: I heard her toxicology came back DIRTY!
People subscribe to conspiracies because the truth is too hard to handle.

I saw the same type of thing happen in Simi Valley several years ago. I was to go give my statement and low and behold they did not need it. several years later it came out that the police were not in the wrong but the victem BULL##IT!!!!!!

how did she die? was she wearing a seatbelt?
3 months, 2 weeks ago
we need to know if she was drunk/drugs and if she wore a seatbelt at not. stop trying to throw all the police under the bus. kthxbye
3 months, 2 weeks ago
is it possible the cops let this poor girl lay in her car for an extended period of time and intentionally prevented immediate medical treatment in order to increase the likelihood of her passing away? that way, devin could never say the cops were driving recklessly and slammed into her car and are at total fault for this accident, and now, her death
we all know how this will work out because we seen it a thousand times:
1. nothing will happen to the cops. if you're a member of this country's biggest gang, you can do whatever you want and get away with it
2. the family will sue, which they should, including the individuals, not just LAPD
3. the tax payers will pay for LAPD negligence once again
when will cops finally be held financially responsible for their indiscretions and criminals actions?
if i had any power i would introduce a bill that would hold cops financially accountable for their illegal activities/behavior

What can you do now ?
Help us end The Illegal practice by the LAPD of "Silent Running" Racing at high Speed along the Venice Corridor with out Sirens Emergency Lights or HEAD LIGHTS.
Call on any council or city members you may know. We are a hugely connected group of men and women I am asking for help as neither the police nor the Press seem to care.
The only forth coming inquiry has been simply through one reporter on Kpcc willing to write openly an unbiased account of the truth. Not a word from the Venice LAPD Precinct
Oh I did receive this in a Facebook message!
"The officer investigating the case is Det. Jesse Ravega at 323-XXX-XXXX. He is urging witnesses to contact him to share what they know."
What !
Not one word of "we are so sorry for your loss how can we be there for you" . Just give us your witnesses!
Really !!! So you can continue intimidating them as you did that night
No wonder there is so much acrimony between the public and the police. I personally have worked with your Officers as a 1st AD Filming for the last 30 yrs on the our streets. I respect and honor closely those men and women. But who are you i dont know you I want to respect you , I want to trust you but tell me how can i How can we.
So i ask any one who can or will help keep this tragedy in full public view so the world knows Devin was not at fault as was stated by a female officer at a Venice council meeting last week . She was not drunk ( she was an active proud sober member of AA and a drug an alcohol councilor at Clearview Foundation ). She did she not go thru a red light ( one does not exist on that corner) ! Nor did she blow a stop sign. She obeyed the law and the Law ........ YOU FILL IN THE BLANKS
Why.... how can this happen She could have been your Wife your Daughter -
SIlent Running must be brought to trial and all who use it, condone it, turn a blind eye to it.
We who loved her promise never to lay quietly or sheepishly silent and tow your blue line -
Protect and serve us as your swore
Christopher
PS I want to know of the nature of the police officers Toxicology since they were admitted for treatment there must be records - Because who else runs at Freeway speed on our city streets ! Reports have been heard that they were over 60 -80 mph no siren no emergency lights and insanely no HEAD LIGHTS !

Check the broad's cell phone records. I'm sure she was texting or talking on it prior to impact.

I am sorry for what happened here.
I don't know Devon but i can tell you this as a FACT from my own eye's SEVERAL TIMES This year alone. ( I live on Brooks so I am always turning onto Lincoln.)
THE LAPD DRIVE UP & DOWN LINCOLN AT NIGHT ON THE" WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD" WTH ALLLLL THERE LIGHTS OFF ...EVEN HEAD LIGHTS TRYING TO CATCH PEOPLE GOING INTO THE HOOD TO BUY CRACK.
I don't dislike the LAPD but I just thought this was dangerous & rather suspect. If I am needed to testify under Oath that I saw this happen at least 4 times I will.

Get it straight people! Read the previous postings before you make ludicrous claims!
First of all, it wouldn't matter if she was wearing the most protective seat belt and driving the safest car in the world! If you are hit by two cars on the drivers side at 70 mph, YOU WILL NOT SURVIVE!! Think about it!
AND, the only people who need a drug/alcohol test are the police officers! This young woman was sober for 2 years!
AND LASTLY, WHO CARES IF SHE WAS IN FACT TEXTING/TALKING ON THE PHONE?!!?!?!? That does NOT take away the fact that these police were being completely reckless, dangerous, and breaking the law in every shape and form.
Some people are just so ridiculous! Just had to call that out!
3 months, 2 weeks ago
Jason you'd rather have crack heads breaking into your home, than a police vehicle roaming with it's headlights out on side streets looking for criminals.
Nice logic there Sherlock.
2 years sober. What an achievement. No one relapses after 2 years.
Right.
