Free H1N1 vaccinations today in LA County
Priority group gets vaccines in Azusa, Boyle Heights, and Watts.
Los Angeles County offers free swine flu vaccines today for pregnant women, infants 6-24 months, those who care for infants under 6 months, health care workers, and emergency personnel. The County asks that everyone else wait to get their H1N1 vaccines and suggests people begin with the seasonal flu vaccine.
About 70,000 people have been vaccinated so far in Los Angeles County - about 5.5 million residents fall into the priority categories. The County also asks those who want H1N1 vaccinations to fill out a form, available at www.publichealth.lacounty.gov, before arriving.
Today's free vaccines are available at Memorial Park North Recreation Center, 340 N. Orange Place, Azusa, from 11 am to 7 pm; Salazar Park, 3864 Whittier Blvd., Boyle Heights, from 11 am to 7 pm; and at the Watts Labor Action Committee building, 10950 S. Central Ave., Watts, from 9 am to 5 pm.
Free H1N1 vaccinations will be offered Saturday in Orange County: Irvine Valley College, 5500 Irvine Center Drive, Building A300, Room 307; and at Santa Ana College, 1530 W. 17th Street, Johnson Center, Building U.
