Commuter rail traffic delayed

Derailment in Los Angeles caused delays for Riverside Metrolink commuters.

A Union Pacific freight train derailed this morning near Union Station in Los Angeles. Metrolink spokesman Francisco Oaxaca said that Metrolink trains leaving Riverside after 4:42 a.m. will go only so far as the Montebello-Commerce station. They're trying to set up an alternate route from Riverside to Los Angeles, but there will be delays of an hour or so.

Metrolink recommends that passengers who normally travel on the Riverside Line to Los Angeles use Metrolink's 91 Line or San Bernardino Line instead. Details at www.metrolinktrains.com.
