Bodies of woman, 6-year-old girl found in Perris home

PERRIS - A 43-year-old woman and a 6-year-old girl were found dead inside their Perris home and homicide investigators were searching for the husband of the woman in connection with the deaths.

Authorities discovered the bodies while responding to a welfare call on Saturday at 8 a.m. in the 2800 block of Banner Place in Perris.

Once inside, officers found the bodies. They also found a 10-year-old girl inside the residence unharmed. The victims were identified as Maysam Barbar, 43, and Tamara Barbar, 6.

Police said the dead woman's husband, Michael Barber, 52, had fled the scene.

He is believed be driving a tan or gold 2004 Nissan Maxima, license plate number 5GMV103. He could also be seen in a 2008 blue or dark gray Nissan Maxima, license plate number 6BRV641.

[Update at 12:50 p.m.] The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports that Barber has been caught driving on Interstate 10 in Deming, New Mexico.
