Doomsday film 2012 is bringing life to the box office.

Critics panned it, but movie fans lined up to take it in. The latest the-end-of-the world-is-coming action thriller 2012 was number one at the box office. The Sony Pictures saga pulled in about $65 million domestically. It stars John Cusack and Danny Glover.

A Christmas Carol, the Disney version of the holiday classic featuring Jim Carrey, is second with more than $22 million. Men Who Stare at Goats starring George Clooney is third.

Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire is fourth. Rounding out the top five is Michael Jackson’s This is It. This week it breaks the box office money record for music documentary making more than $67 million domestically.
