Los Angeles County fire chief announces retirement
Los Angeles County Fire Chief Michael Freeman says he’ll leave his post come March of next year.
Freeman has led the department for nearly 21 years. He told KPCC he'd like to spend more time with his family and on "personal pursuits." Freeman is the agency's second-longest-serving chief since Spence Turner, who served for 27 years from 1925-1952.
