A liquor store owner assaulted during an attempted robbery was recovering today, and three suspects were at large.

The three males entered a liquor store on Pico Boulevard at Hauser Boulevard near Little Ethiopia around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. They pistol-whipped the owner, according to a camera crew at the scene.

The males fled on foot when an employee heard the scuffle and came out from the back of the liquor store to help the owner.
