BUENA PARK — An autopsy was pending today on a 27-year-old woman found dead in her car in Buena Park, hours after she called her sister to say she felt ill, police said.
The woman, who has no been identified, was found around 10:40 p.m. Friday in the driver's seat of her parked vehicle in the 800 block of Neptune Drive, said Buena Park police Lt. Kevin Shea.
The death apparently was due to a medical condition and did not appear suspicious, Shea said.
The woman's sister called police about 6 p.m. Friday, saying she had driven around the Buena Park Mall looking for her sibling, who called to say she was sick and parked there, Sgt. Bill Kohanek told the Orange County Register.
Five hours after police took a missing-person report, someone reported an unconscious woman in car parked on Neptune Drive, a few blocks from the mall.
When police arrived, the woman was dead.
