I-5 reopens after closure from storm
NEWHALL - A 40-mile stretch of southbound Interstate 5 has been reopened after a three-hour closure due to weather conditions, according to Officer Jennifer Connelly of the California Highway Patrol.
The road between the Grapevine and Parker exits was closed just before 6:30 a.m. this morning after ice and snow blanketed the road. It was reopened at 9:45 a.m. today.
CHP officers began escorting vehicles through the area around 8:30 a.m., Connelly said.
