President Obama likes a pick up game of basketball every once and a while. Today he’ll have an opportunity to face off against some pretty tough players.

It’s a tradition for the president of the United States to welcome members of a winning sports team to the White House. This time it’s the Los Angeles Lakers, last year’s NBA champions.

And it’s not just Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher on the invitation list. Lakers coaches and staff, former Lakers greats and NBA officials will also be in the house.

President Obama is known for pressing cabinet secretaries and even Republican Congressmen into service for a quick pick up game. No official word on whether the President will challenge his guests to a friendly game of hoops.

The Lakers are in town to play the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night.
