Burbank liquor store owner arrested for allegedly selling alcohol to minors

BURBANK — A Burbank liquor store owner was arrested for allegedly selling alcohol to minors, police reported today.

Nerses Moumjian, who owns Legacy liquor store at 1800 W. Olive Ave., was taken into custody at 7:45 p.m. Friday, said Sgt. Robert Quesada of the Burbank Police Department.

During a weeklong investigation, police observed numerous alcohol sales to teenagers. As a result, the city's attorney filed an 11-count complaint against Moumjian, the lieutenant said.

The 46-year-old business owner is due to appear in Burbank Superior Court on Feb. 23 on six counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and five counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor, Quesada said.

Anyone with additional information about the case was asked to call Sgt. Matthew Ferguson or Detective Celia Hawver at (818) 238-3272.
