Episodes of the ABC daytime drama "All My Children,'' in which Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Councilman Eric Garcetti portray themselves, will air this week.
Villaraigosa appears in a scene with series star Susan Lucci in Wednesday's episode. Villaraigosa crosses paths with Lucci's character, Erica Kane, at Confusion, the Pine Valley hotspot she partially owns.
The two will have a back story of having previously met at a charity event in Los Angeles the year before.
Villaraigosa's appearance continues a tradition of Los Angeles mayors portraying themselves on entertainment television programs.
Sam Yorty appeared on the CBS comedy "Here's Lucy'' in 1972; Tom Bradley on a 1988 episode of the Fox Broadcasting and Showtime comedy, "It's Garry Shandling's Show''; and Richard Riordan on a 1999 episode of ABC's "It's Like, You Know...''
Villaraigosa also appeared on a 2005 episode of the ABC comedy "George Lopez.''
Garcetti, whose district includes Andrita Studios, where "All My Children" is taped, appears in Tuesday's episode in a scene with David Canary (Adam Chandler), in which they talk about the initiatives they're taking together to make Chandler Enterprises more environmentally friendly.
"All My Children'' began taping in Los Angeles Jan. 4 after 40 years in New York City.
