Off-duty LAPD officer dies in Diamond Bar traffic collision

DIAMOND BAR — An off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer was killed today in a four-vehicle traffic collision in Diamond Bar that also left two people injured.

A vehicle traveling northbound on Grand Avenue collided with a southbound vehicle and created a chain reaction collision with two more cars, sheriff's Lt. John Saleeby of the Walnut/Diamond Bar Station said.

One vehicle overturned in the collision reported at 5:32 p.m. on Grand Avenue at Longview Drive, Saleeby said.

The two injured victims were taken to hospitals in unknown condition, Saleeby said.

It was unclear whether the off-duty officer died at the scene or a hospital.

No arrests were made.
