No charges for actor and SoCal council candidate
Prosecutors say there is not enough evidence to file charges against a Santa Clarita city council candidate and reality TV contestant arrested on suspicion of raping two 14-year-old girls.
Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says 26-year-old Johnny Pride was released from jail Saturday, but the investigation will continue.
Investigators have said Pride gave the girls alcohol at his apartment then sexually assaulted them on Feb. 27. The girls went to police and Pride was arrested Thursday after a candidates' forum at a Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
The district attorney's office cited insufficient evidence and did not file charges.
Pride has appeared on the shows "Conveyor Belt of Love" on ABC and "Battle of the Bods" on Fox.
